So here’s the bad news.
How many of you know my darling brain child ‘Angel’s Wing’ or ‘Invictus’ or Whatever. Yes? Well, I’m taking a break. I’m putting that world on hold. Is it goodbye? Certainly not! I have every intention of coming back to it at a later date. For those of you thinking; “Anna, no! Don’t do it!” rest assured that I have given this considerable thought. It’s more then time. Think of this piece as a naughty child who has been sent to time out until further notice.
Now I can guess what you’re thinking. “What will she do now?” Well, I have other children that have been temporarily suspended for the past year while I slaved to tell Adrian and Aria’s tale. While they are no more well behaved then their younger sibling, they are older and slightly more mature. I’m choosing my oldest child, the one who was a child companion that I made up stories about to entertain myself on long car rides.
That’s right, return of Katara and ‘Sparrow’. However, as I have now finished watching all three seasons of Avatar the Last Airbender (and cradled and obsession for it. I eagerly await the next installment ‘Legend of Korra’ to come to Netflix), I can no longer call my dear raven-haired, magic-hating thief by the same name as everybody’s favorite water-bender. So, Katara is newly christened as Kristina, or Krissy.
The original Raven Trilogy takes place in Levithia, a world or childhood daydreams. I feel that Levithia is to immature for me now-a-days (maybe I’m being stupid but whatever), so I’m creating a great new setting. Get this: Steampunk.
That’s right! One of my new obsessions and rising Gothic subculture, Steampunk: nineteen twenties with advanced technology. Kind of sci-fi, but only a little bit. Maybe it won’t work. But maybe it will. So except excerpts, mood swings, irrational cravings for hot fudge. Here comes Sparrow, steampunked.
