So school starts tomorrow, and I start my sophomore year. Beka is starting second grade, and little Emma is starting kindergarten. Mom is taking it pretty hard. At church today she bawled at everything. (I mean, more then usual), and now she's started making the jokes, and coming up with her crazy schemes. The invention of the day is a sock and underwear hanger. It's a square of felt hung around a coat hanger, with holes to thread sock and underwear through. She's making ten of them... (five for Beka, five for Emma) The idea is, she threads the socks and underwear through the holes in the felt and hangs the girls outfits on the hangers. Then the girl's wardrobe is laid out for the week.
She generously offers to make me one, too which I politely declined. the conversation went something like this.
Anna: *walks in to see mom cutting up pieces of felt* ... uhm... mom? what are you doing?
Mom: I'm making sock and underwear hangers!
Anna: ...
MOm: it will save early morning stress! I plan the girls out for the week, and then every day of the week I have their outfits all layed out!!!
Anna: ... you didn't sleep well, last night, did you?
Mom: Should I make you one?
Anna: What?
MOm: Do you want a sock and underwear hanger?
Anna: Heck no.
Mom: Your loss. But I do I wish I had different colored felt. Brown and green is dorky. But I'm cheap and didn't want to buy new felt.
Anna: ... *leaving*
Mom: By the way, I'm lending your stereo to our neighbor!
Anna: WHAT?!?
Mom Just kidding!
